Inspiration
The inspiration for this project stemmed from my struggles with time management. As a team, we realized that habits are formed at a young age, which is why we decided to target our product to elementary school students.
What it does
Our program is a website that has key features which motivate children to be more engaged in academic deadlines. Using Admin mode, teachers can assign a task (Dragon, Golems, Slimes) or give a bonus (streak, items)to students.
How we built it
We used cute, hand-drawn animated pixel art to draw the attention of the young audience. Implementing a streak system motivates students to finish assigned tasks. Made an easy-to-read UI and supportive UX for the teachers who aren't used to the website
Challenges we ran into
While cooperating through Git Hub, we encountered a complication where the different codes that were built by different people caused multiple troubleshooting issues in the process of combining the work. As the same files were being edited separately, the program often finds itself confused about which code to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a local website because it is the first time either of us has done something like this!
What we learned
GitHub's versatility scales with the users' experience. We should have taken more time initially looking into GitHub so that we wouldn't run into so many setup errors.
What's next for Procrastinot
Making this into an App! We will also expand the audience from high schoolers to every person who needs FUN time management.
