Inspiration
We were both victims of procrastination, the shame and disappointment in cramming a month-long project in days because you were idle for the past weeks is something that we never want to experience again. Hence, our inspiration for this project.
What it does
Our project simplifies the user's tasks into short, doable steps that motivate action through a simple, user-friendly program
How we built it
This project consists mostly of Python code, it utilises a serverless A.I model from Huggingface to generate simplifications with intelligence
Challenges we ran into
Taming an A.I model is easier said than done, we struggled heavily in trying to create consistent A.I generations. Problems such as premature cutoffs and unsupported formats are rampant. However, we eventually succeeded in stabilising the A.I model to an acceptable degree.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are incredibly proud of what we learned regarding integrating AI models in Python projects, we are incredibly optimistic of the potentials in future applications of this technique. What's more than that, we are proud to generate a feasible solution to a problem which many students, including us, are relatable to.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned to integrate AI technology into our projects through the use of open-source APIs. We think that what we learned was particularly important due to the broad array of problems AI technologies can tackle.
What's next for Procrastination Preventer
We plan to integrate more popular platforms like Google Tasks or Microsoft to-do, if not a reminder system of our own into this application to further improve the procrastination-killing effect of this program. Alongside that, we also plan to further stabilise the program in order to share our solution to our friends.
