Inspiration
Partly inspired by my Create Your Own Adventure books and Sarah's interest in the vintage text-based programing, we decided to create an interactive story using text. For the subject matter, we were inspired by our limited college experience as well as the stories we have heard from around campus.
What it does
The program prints out a story, when it then prompts the user to enter an character, based on a choice. The character imputed determined the outcome, and the better outcome meant the more points you got. The more points you got resulted in your evaluation at the end of the came.
How We Build It
Python was the language we used, but we pretty much figured out each piece we needed in order to make each individual sections to work.
Challenges I We Ran Into
Neither of us had ever used python before, so we learned the language in enough time to build and create the functioning project.
Accomplishments that We Are Proud of
It works.
What I learned
Not only how a hackathon works, but how to build programs with no guidance or any idea what you are doing. Everyone was helpful in giving us tips that we were clueless about, such as programming platforms and compliers we should us.
What's next for Procrasti
We'll probably show Procrasti off to our friends, maybe create some other stories or recreate it in another programing language where we can put it on mobile application or graphics.
