Inspiration
I initially got the basic idea for this project from one of my own experiences during the lockdown period. I had a lot of free time then because everything was work-from-home so I decided to pick up new hobbies like learning a new language. However I quickly lost motivation, and it wasn't very fruitful. So, I began thinking of ways to make this process of developing habits interesting.
I realised that building a new habit is much more fun when friends are involved. Hence, I decided to build Proclivity, which is an app where you can form clubs, work on building a habit together and also see your friend's progress.
What it does
Proclivity is a habit-tracking iOS application that focuses on building groups of friends (or clubs) that work on building habits together.
How we built it
I built this in SwiftUI. Currently, it uses a local database for storage.
Challenges we ran into
I had also planned to include a blockchain-based crypto reward mechanism but couldn't achieve it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I managed to build basic CRUD with a local data storage.
What we learned
Learnt a lot about Core Data with SwiftUI.
What's next for Proclivity
- I plan on developing the backend of the application & improving the Clubs feature.
- I also plan on developing a crypto rewards mechanism for the app so that you will be rewarded in cryptocurrency (a new one for this app).
