Inspiration
In today’s competitive financial landscape, advisors are expected to deliver personalized, proactive service. The catch is that they often lack the tools to do so efficiently. We imagined a future where advisors don’t chase insights, but rather, they live in them. Inspired by this vision, we set out to build a solution that integrates Tableau Next with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, enabling advisors to act on predictive, real-time analytics directly within their daily workflows. This way advisors can feel empowered to make decisions based on customizable views of their TabNext dashboard.
How we built it
We started off by creating some representative mock data to resemble what we would find in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC). This data included information on account level basis of financial goals, different goals, dates of when they are looking to target, and other financial related data. We then used this data to create a Tableau Next dashboards with embedded metrics detailed below. We accompanied that dashboard in each mock client's page in Salesforce with an embedded Tableau Cloud visualization with the ability to visualize the progress of our mock client's goals. These insights will then help our advisors have tailored conversations with their clients to assist them in hitting their goals.
We designed a seamless advisor experience across two key pages:
Advisor Home Page (Tableau Next Dashboard)
- Displays key metrics like AUM trends, withdrawal spikes, churn score trend, active financial accounts, and goal drift.
- Uses Metric Concierge to allow advisors to interact with data and create tasks directly from insights.
- Enables one-click navigation to client account pages for deeper exploration and other native Salesforce actions from the embedded Tableau Next dashboard.
Account Page (Embedded Tableau Next and Tableau Cloud Visualizations)
- Overview of this filtered account on key metrics.
- Visualizes goal progress (actual vs. target) and household member data.
- Highlights gaps, such as missing retirement accounts despite retirement goals.
We recreated the Financial Services Cloud data model using representative mock data to simulate realistic advisor workflows and client scenarios.
Challenges we ran into
- Demo Environment: we were not able to obtain a demo environment with Financial Services Cloud, so we improvised and had to mimic the FSC data model to ensure realistic relationships between accounts, financial accounts, and goals.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
