Inspiration

Every developer knows the feeling: you discover a $50,000 hackathon three days after it ended. Prize money is scattered across Devpost, HackerOne, Gitcoin, Kaggle, and HeroX. Nobody has time to check five platforms daily.

What it does

Bounty Hunter is a one-click prize intelligence system:

  • Scans 5 major platforms simultaneously in under 5 seconds
  • Claude AI scores every opportunity 0-100 (prize value × deadline urgency × win probability)
  • 739+ live opportunities tracked daily
  • Real-time win rate calculation (participants vs prize slots)
  • Filter by category, minimum prize, deadline

How we built it

Next.js 16 App Router for the dashboard, Claude Haiku for parallel AI evaluation, five independent async scrapers, Tailwind CSS v4 for the UI. Deployed on Vercel. GitHub Actions for daily automated scans.

Challenges

Making 5 independent scrapers run in parallel without blocking, and making Claude scoring fast enough for real-time use without sacrificing accuracy.

Accomplishments

Sub-5-second full scan from 5 platforms. 739+ opportunities tracked. Win probability calculation using actual participant count data. Live at bounty-hunter-eight.vercel.app

What we learned

The highest expected value opportunities aren't always the biggest prizes — a $1,000 hackathon with 3 participants beats a $100,000 one with 5,000 competitors.

What is next

Auto-submission pipeline. Slack/email alerts for high-EV opportunities. Win/loss tracking to improve AI scoring over time.
