Inspiration

The lack of excersice and the MENTAL HEALTH issues created by this pandemia are something we need to take care of as soon as possible. All sports events, courses, gyms, even the Olympics have been shut down. Another situation is that in social media, the "CHALLENGES" have become a mayor trend, and this can be used to create healthy people through encouraging them to do exercise on a daily basis.

What it Does

Pro Tribe is a Social App the rewards sports users, through digital competitions and interactive tasks. INDOORS or Outdoors challenges where users make points to buy gear, nutrition or equipment.

Pro Tribe offers a TOOL to create fun digital competitions and interactive tasks. Call it time-wise, social or style contests, athletes or enthusiasts of any level can compete in the BATTLES to earn ProPoints. In addition, the CHALLENGES will provide daily activities to the users to complete through the use of accelerometer, gps and media, and the EASTEREGGS will drive users to specific geo-located activities. By the use of Propoints, users will be able to buy GIFTCARDS from sporting goods stores, gyms, nutrition, medical attention or anything that the athletes need to keep practicing their sport. This social app lets local businesses brands or goverments reach and promote sports practicing either locally, nationally or globally.

How we built it

We created the original MVP in an Angular/NodeJS/MongoDB platform this platform was already accepted on iOS and Andoid stores. The production version is being developed in WinDev. The app will be delivered in iOS and Android (already live a version in development) as well as a web version exclusive for the advertisers control panel. We chose AWS as the host for our project, including external API's for video storage and control.

Accomplishments

We are a team of people inspired by sports and outdoor activities. For us the hardest part of the COVID outbreak is the lack of action and lack of activities. Since we had a platform already in mind for outdoor sports, we have decided to modify it to allow people from all kinds of sports and people who need to stay active, to stay healthy without physical interactions and virus spread risk.

We have adjusted out platform to incorporate more sports that can be done from the comfort of home. Some interesting and engaging challenges were created: a) home battles - a competition where usres can practice various fitness exercise and compete with each other.

b) home challenges - competition where users are requested to repeat some challenging exercise, for example, handstand scorpion asana for 10 seconds.

Both battles and challenges can be designed in the app by local businesses or sport organisations. Comeptiting users will be rewarded by and get rewarded by ProPoints. The ProPoints can then be spent to ourchase gift cards in the app.Gift cards can be spent in online stores to purchase favourite sports gear.

What we learnt

Even in the most difficult situations it is possible to find a solution to follow your passion, do sports and stay healthy and find like minded people both locally and globally. The Pain/Gain diagrams, and the Empathy map was something we didn't considered before as part as our strategy, and it was useful to corroborate our proposition.

What's Next ... to LAUNCH!

Pro Tribe will bootstrap in the following month (we have the investment) and will go live for all Europe and will reach the first 100k users in the first year. We will design several more types of competitions to engage users and allow them to stay healthy at home. These competitions will be available in the app for sport organisations and businesses to facilitate their work despite the challenging conditions. With the support of EIC Accelerator & the hackathon we plan to go for 1,000,000 users in the first year, and go WorldWide in the begining of 2021.
