Inspiration
We were inspired by the challenges amputees face during traditional prosthetic fitting, which is often expensive, time-consuming, and inaccessible in many areas. We wanted to create a faster, affordable, and technology-driven solution that could improve rehabilitation accessibility.
What it does
Pro Fit Scanner is an AI-assisted prosthetic fitting and limb measurement system that uses sensors, 3D scanning, and digital modeling to capture accurate stump measurements for customized prosthetic design and rehabilitation workflows.
How we built it
We built the system using sensors, AI-assisted analysis, 3D scanning workflows, embedded systems, and digital modeling tools. The prototype was developed through iterative testing, calibration, and real-world validation with users.
Challenges we ran into
Some major challenges included improving sensor accuracy, calibration consistency, hardware integration, real-world usability, and reducing costs while maintaining reliable performance.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
We successfully developed functional prototypes, tested the system with more than 10 individuals with limb loss, received a government grant of INR 10 lakhs, achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, and filed design and device patents.
What we learned
We learned the importance of user-centered design, clinical feedback, iterative prototyping, and balancing affordability with technological innovation in healthcare solutions.
What’s next for Pro Fit Scanner
Our next steps include expanding clinical validation, improving AI-assisted accuracy, integrating scalable digital manufacturing workflows, building healthcare partnerships, and preparing for commercialization and larger pilot deployments.
