prm now can successfully decrypt an entire encrypted directory to an arbitrary destination directory as long as you remember the password for encryption ;)

It automatically creates encrypted backups of directories. Of course it can also decrypt those backups provided you remember the password! It uses the xchacha20-poly1305 cipher.
