Inspiration
Have you ever had a group project and needed to set up a meeting time? Have you ever been asked to upload your schedule to a group chat? Have you ever had events on your calendar that you wanted to keep private? PrivaMeet is here to save the day!
What it does
PrivaMeet is a privacy-focused scheduler! No personally-identifying information is displayed, stored, or logged. Instead, view a group schedule that displays the anonymized aggregate free slots of your team! Schedules are password-protected, adding another layer of security.
How we built it
PrivaMeet runs on AWS! Our front end uses React! The back-end logic runs in Lambda and heatmaps are stored in DynamoDB. PrivaMeet scrapes the CMU Schedule of Classes, allowing you to generate time slots quickly by simply entering your courses.
Challenges we ran into
We found some difficulty in storing our aggregate heatmaps (fully anonymous) in DynamoDB. Learning on the fly was an essential skill for the completion of this project.
What's next for PrivaMeet
With some more polish, PrivaMeet might see a full release for CMU students to use in the near future!
