Online privacy is becoming increasingly important in the age where personal data has become widely available to certain entities like big tech corporations. This is what inspired us to create PrivaChat, a blockchain-based application that fixes one of the dimensions of online privacy; messaging and social networking.

About the Project

Our vision for PrivaChat is for it to be an application where users can use their wallet's public key to generate a hash code, which they can give to other people (rather than giving them a phone number or social media username). The person can then use this hashed code to get in touch with you through the application, which will work just like any other messaging app. The app also gives the user the option to pseudonymously rate the person they get in touch with, which ensures the legitimacy of the reviews.
