Inspiration

Many students and early professionals struggle with career confusion. Most online advice is generic, overwhelming, or not personalized, which often leads to wasted time and uncertainty. We wanted to build something that could provide clarity, structure, and direction using AI.

What it does

Prisml is an AI-powered career advisor that transforms vague career confusion into a clear, personalized roadmap. By analyzing a user's background, skills, interests, and goals, Prisml generates actionable career guidance and step-by-step plans tailored to each individual.

How we built it

Prisml is built as a modern web application using Next.js and React, with TypeScript for type safety and Tailwind CSS for styling. We integrated Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash model to analyze user inputs and generate fast, structured, and personalized career guidance. The application is deployed on Vercel for seamless performance and scalability.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing AI prompts that produce structured, actionable outputs instead of generic advice. Another challenge was balancing simplicity and usefulness in the user interface so that users could easily input their information and understand the generated results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built and deployed a fully functional AI-powered career advisor within the hackathon timeframe. We are proud of designing AI prompts that generate structured, actionable career roadmaps rather than generic advice, integrating Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for fast and relevant responses, and delivering a clean, user-friendly experience that focuses on real-world usability.

What we learned

Through building Prisml, we learned how to design effective AI prompts, structure AI-generated outputs for real-world usability, and build a clean, user-focused product within a hackathon timeframe.

What's next for Prisml – AI Career Advisor

Future improvements include resume analysis, skill gap visualization, progress tracking, and integrations with learning platforms to make career planning even more actionable.
