The inspiration for PRISEC came from a clear need in the private security industry: enabling faster, more reliable communication between clients and on-duty security officers. Traditional dispatch methods—calls to a central office or manual radio coordination—often lead to delays and miscommunications. PRISEC was designed to modernize this process, leveraging smartphone GPS technology to streamline incident reporting and escort requests with real-time officer deployment.

Throughout development, we gained valuable insights into mobile location services, user interface design for both clients and officers, and the complexities of building secure, real-time communication tools. We also learned the importance of balancing user privacy with operational efficiency, especially when handling location data and incident details.

Our goal was to create a tool that empowers private security firms to operate with the efficiency and responsiveness of emergency services, without the overhead of a full-scale dispatch center. PRISEC helps firms improve client trust, officer accountability, and overall service quality—all through a single, easy-to-use platform.

One major challenge was designing the GPS tracking and routing system to be both accurate and battery-efficient. We also encountered hurdles in ensuring secure communication between clients and officers, particularly in areas with poor connectivity. Ensuring scalability for small firms as well as larger operations was another key engineering and UX challenge we had to overcome.
