Failed prints and excessive troubleshooting discourage people from actively using 3D printing. This led Printality to devise a Software as a Service (SaaS) for a preliminary printability check that reduces the number of failed prints. Printality's printability check identifies features in a 3D model that lead to problems during the actual printing step. The check provides suggestions on how to solve these faulty features. Starting from institutions with courses that extensively use 3D printing and modelling, we will expand to a wider audience. We will then target different steps of the 3D printing process and integrate the whole 3D printing process. Ultimately, we envision a world where people can easily 3D print their ideas into reality.
