Inspiration
The inspiration to do an Anti-Bullying game came from a previous game the team had came up with. We wanted to show that if we are able to stand up to a bully and make a community, anything is possible. Same goes to any social issue that needs to be address, it takes courage for people to stand up and fight for their message.
What it does
The game is a remix of the game snake. The player tries to maneuver it's way around a bully with supporters to stop the bully and gain followers.
How we built it
We built this game from scratch on Scratch. We looked inside some projects to get the player movement and the map barriers. Then we were able to set variables to program the bully AI.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into in our group was to split the work evenly and connect it all back together. Another challenge the team had is learning how to do the growth mechanics.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some accomplishments we are proud of is learning how to do the movement as it is the core of our game. This is an accomplishment as we had to figure out which variables to use and learn the speed correct for the game.
What we learned
We learn how to communicate with each other effectively and how to be more organize as we all can't really work on the same project at the same time.
What's next for Prevail
For Prevail, we will like to make it as polished as possible before we do anything. When we are happy with our product, we want to send it out to our school so we can raise awareness. Then we would like to show it to our whole school district to do the same thing and just improve the situation in our communities.
