Inspiration

Based on articles about covid-19 pandemic all over the world and way to help people face this critical situation, we can slightly knew what can this corona virus did to us, how to avoid to be infected by this virus and so on. The spread rate of corona virus going up every single day, every country can be infected and the people's health can be messed up by this virus. This fact made people feel anxious, they feel uneasy to do their own activities or works. Moreover, this new version of virus can caused death issues towards human who were infected, especially for elderly people. Not stopping there, there is new fact that mentions people who are healthy, have good immune system also can be affected or be a carrier. They might be not showing any symptoms of the desease, but they can infect people around them. These raction of reasons make us want to creat a tool/ product to lessen people's anxiety and keep their body clean and sterile also to prevent more people to get infected by the desease caused by corona virus, covid-19. The focus of this hackaton project is "health", a tool to keep our body sterile with simple and environmentally friendly, can be used anywhere, can be put on any door, for everyone, everytime, and especially for people who can't work from home or anyone who want to go out of their home.

What it does

When an object or person approaching and stand by near this tool, the sensor will recognize the nearest object and will activate the system to spread out the liquid of disinfectant with the help of rubber tube from the top / above the object. Using disinfectant fluid is a way to prevent the growth of germs,bacteria, and virus so there is only a little bit possibility being infected by covid-19 or other desease.

How I built it

First, we made a circuit by connecting jumper cable to the relay and ultrasonic sensor, with all of these components were connected to Arduiono UNO. We put ultrasonic sensor on the front part of door (in prototype we made). Then, we use battery that connected to Air Pump DC Motor and Arduino so that the motor can be activated and moving. Air Pump DC Motor or mostly called as Air Pump serves as a place to link the rubber tube so that fluid that we put can be steamed down. We put the end of the rubber tube/hose which connected to motor inside the bottle where the fluid is, with motor's moves the fluid will come out of the bottle through the other rubber tube. This hose is a tool to shoot out disinfectant towards object that was recognized by the ultrasonic sensor.

Challenges I ran into

Lack of funds, we had a hard time making this tool because we don't have complete set tools to finish this prototype, so that the prototype that we made is not looking perfect.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Making this prototype a day full and we finish it( although its not looks good ) is a thing that we can be proud of. With this situation where our team can't meet regularly and in this urgent condition, we think and we hope this prototype can really be an example as one of effective products to prevent this pandemic. We also feel that nothing impossible, at first we think that this may be hard to build a prototype in a day but we did it anyway. Using this, can help a lot of people out there to use disinfectant practically and efficiently, especially people who should work outside their home until now, they can be less worried that they can infected people they loved.

What I learned

I learned how this tool/product can effectively works, effienciently used by people, without hampering their work and less time needed. We also can learned that this product may can help people to feel worry less and caring towards each other, without suspecting people around them can infect them, and self protect.

What's next for PREUT

This product designed to be putted on every house or building, this product may located in a front door or made a room for this tool so every people who come in and out of the house can use automatic disinfectant and can be free from anxiety.
