Inspiration
Director Charlie Lightening, known for working with Paul McCartney, Oasis, and Robbie Williams, invited us to create a new video for Pretty Face where young Robbie from 1995 performs a brand-new track. For us, it was a rare chance to work with music we love and a top-tier director while pushing AI to resurrect a “lost” performance.
How we built it
We started from a recent green-screen performance and archival 1995 footage. Using WAN 2.1/2.2, Kling, Flux, and classic compositing, we de-aged Robbie, matched him to a tiny set of 1995 photos, and integrated him into the old footage. We erased a singer from original footage with a very precise reconstruction of the background by Kling. We focused on believable lipsync, facial animation, and era-accurate grain and color.
Challenges we ran into
We had less than two weeks and only four people to deliver a three-minute video. Limited 1995 references made identity consistency difficult, and achieving natural lipsync on a de-aged AI face while preserving Robbie’s performance was technically demanding under a very tight schedule.
Accomplishments that we're proud of

What's next for AIST
This project is just a first step. AIST is an AI and VFX company focused on high-end work — from series and feature films to music videos — and we’re now expanding both our collaborations with global studios and the development of our own original IP, using AI to power new kinds of cinematic experiences.
