Inspiration

The inspiration behind the prescription management software stemmed from the need to improve how patients manage their medications, providing a clear and easy way to track dosages, intervals, and medical issues. Additionally, integrating AI to offer second opinions adds a layer of confidence in treatment.

What it does

The software allows patients to manage their prescriptions, displaying medication details such as dosage, interval, and schedule. It includes an AI feature for second opinions on prescriptions and enables easy rescheduling of medication times. It also includes a message sending feature to send emails to patients for when they need to take their prescription.

How we built it

We built the application using React for the frontend, Next.js for routing and server-side rendering, and TypeScript for type safety. Material UI and Tailwind CSS were used for styling, while components were designed to be responsive and user-friendly.

Challenges we ran into

We faced package dependency issues when integrating some third-party libraries, which caused conflicts and slowed development. Another challenge involved sending emails via server requests, which required configuring proper API handling and ensuring secure communication.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of building a user-friendly and intuitive system that allows patients to manage their prescriptions seamlessly. The integration of AI for second opinions is a key achievement that adds real value to the patient experience.

What we learned

We learned a lot about optimizing user interfaces for a diverse range of users, from those tech-savvy to those less familiar with digital tools. Additionally, we gained deeper insights into secure handling of medical data and integrating AI features responsibly.

What's next for Prescription Management Software

In the future, we plan to integrate a more advanced AI model for providing even better medical insights, introduce features for doctors to manage multiple patients, and enable detailed reporting on patient adherence to prescribed medications. We also aim to improve security features and continue refining the UI for better accessibility. So we plan on finishing the project in its entirety and maybe starting a start-up company that is focused on selling this software to hospitals and medical care providers
