Inspiration

In the past few years, I have been hearing my friends and family fall for online scams in some form or another. Some lost a few dollars, while others lost yearly incomes. However, we do not learn about these scams in schools, no do we have any means to prepare and vaccinate people from scams.

What it does

PreScam.ai is a LLM powered scam simulator which lets people experience scams first hand. After people experience it, they will remember and be "vaccinated" against scams

How we built it

We have trained several large language models including Claude, Claude Instant and LLAMA2 to simulate scams

Challenges we ran into

We faced some issues with LLAMA2 creating conversations with itself, while other models do not explicitly allow you to give whitehat prompts, hence we had to be creative in coming up with the LLM prompts

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our efforts have been recognized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a method to prevent scams and we were top 20 award winners at the Singapore Fintech Festival 2024

What we learned

It is possible to build an educational platform in various languages for inoculating people against financial scams

What's next for PreScam.ai

We hope to partner with banks and financial institutions to bring this as an active protection to save the world economy billions of dollars
