Prepti is a modern AI powered interview simulator built to help candidates prepare for real world job interviews with confidence and precision. The project blends a polished startup SaaS experience with intelligent interview logic to recreate how candidates are assessed in high stakes technical and professional interviews.
Prepti analyzes a candidate’s resume and selected job role to generate highly personalized interview questions. Instead of relying on generic prompts, the system grounds each question directly in the user’s background, skills, and experience. The result is a realistic mix of technical, behavioral, and situational questions that closely mirror what candidates can expect in actual interviews.
During an interview session, users respond to one question at a time under timed conditions, simulating real interview pressure. Prepti supports both written answers and optional voice responses, allowing candidates to practice clarity, structure, and confidence. Progress indicators, timers, and smooth transitions maintain focus and create an authentic interview flow.
Once the interview is complete, Prepti delivers a detailed performance evaluation. Candidates receive an overall score along with breakdowns across key dimensions such as technical depth, relevance to the resume, communication clarity, problem solving, and confidence. Feedback is specific and actionable, highlighting strengths, identifying improvement areas, and presenting a rewritten example of a stronger answer to guide learning.
Technically, Prepti is built using Next.js 14, React, and Tailwind, with a clean component driven architecture inspired by modern SaaS products. Backend API routes handle resume uploads, question generation, and answer evaluation, with robust loading states, graceful error handling, and full mobile responsiveness.
