Inspiration

Our inspiration came from the sight of pregnant women waiting in long queues in hospitals just so they can get prenatal care and treatment. We took it upon ourselves to come up with a solution that can help pregnant women get easy, fast and quick access to prenatal care and reduce the unnecessary time wasted in queues before they can receive prenatal care and treatment.

What it does

Our solution simply helps pregnant women in need of prenatal care begin the process towards getting prenatal treatment right from the comfort of the home. By interfacing with the chatbot we've created for this solution, pregnant women get to provide all the necessary information that is needed for the administration of prenatal treatment to them. This information can then be accessed by the relevant medical staffs in the respective hospital in

How we built it

We created a SharePoint list that contains columns where the information of pregnant women in need of prenatal care will be stored. Using Power Virtual Agents, we create a chatbot for pregnant women to interface with and in the process, provide all the required information necessary to administer prenatal treatment to them. All of these information and responses are then collected and stored automatically on SharePoint via Power Automate. Using the platform of Power Apps, medical staffs and personnel can get access to these information and be able to come up with a diagnosis and treatment for the pregnant women even before meeting them in person. And as a result, the undue amount of time spent in queues before seeing an obstetrician for prenatal treatment is eliminated.

Challenges we ran into

Our first challenge was in determining information will we the pregnant women to provide on the chatbot. Another challenge was in automating the responses from Power Virtual Agents onto our SharePoint list.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we were able to bring our idea into reality which has a lot of potential to be better and more viable when improved and worked upon.

What we learned

We learned how to work as a team by assigning different tasks related to our solution to different members of the team.

What's next for Prenatal Care

Prenatal care is still not the finished article. By carrying out more market research and building more on it, we're positive this solution will contribute a lot to the health sector.
