Inspiration
Driven by multiple State Farm Challenge statements and a passion for game development
What it does
2D, top-down interactive game environment. Up to 3 players can play at once to explore points of interest in the game area.
How we built it
Integrated using HTML and CSS, but primarily coded using JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Collision detection with angled shapes creates some tricky vector math. All other hiccups were a result of very little experience with the language.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Made a very solid attempt at the "harder" side of the game mathematics. 2 different styles of player control were implemented, and far more strides made with canvas to customize the game scenes.
What we learned
Learned the difficulty of running multiple scripts simultaneously and how to (and not to) end scripts and start others.
What's next for Premium De-Tedium!
As soon as the collision detection math is solved, the game is effectively finished. All that remains is graphical polish and clarity.
