We were interested in looking at the average food cost (from the FOOD PRICES DATASETS FOR THE EBOLA-AFFECTED COUNTRIES) per region (Northern, Southern, and Western) of Sierra Leone in the months during the Ebola outbreak in 2014.
We have no statistical properties recorded that would indicate the observation that Ebola cases in the three regions in Sierra Leone have have any positive correlation in the average food cost, although from what data we could salvage there appears to either be no correlation or the need for cleaner, higher resolution food price data.
Through this simple visualization we hope to change efforts and track down data related to food drop-offs by health organization and the also the sale bush meat in regions with trending ebola cases to see if either are covariates of ebola case growth.
