Predicting Solar Potential with LSTM

Inspiration

Weather has significant impacts on the amount of power generation prediction. It is challenging to control and establish advanced plans to minimize the use of fossil fuel. Short term predictions are beneficial for real-time control of energy operations.

What it does

Conducted a short exploratory data analysis, we cleaned and preprocessed the data, and modeled our data using LSTM.

How we built it

Build with PyTorch.

Cleaning the data.

We get the result that is very close to actual.

What we learned

Data cleaning and preprocessing are time-consuming.
