Inspiration
“Prayers” began with a simple thought that stayed in my head for weeks. Why do we pray and who are we actually talking to when we do it. I kept thinking about people who whisper their hopes into the dark. I thought about an astronaut praying in space with no one around. I thought about birds singing at sunrise and animals bowing without knowing why. The idea felt honest and universal. It made me want to explore prayer in a modern world where even God can feel unreachable.
What I learned
I learned that a voiceover can carry a film when the emotion is real. I learned how much power there is in asking questions without giving answers. I also learned that humor and vulnerability can sit together in the same breath. When you tell the truth the tone finds its own balance.
In terms of AI tools, I learned that AI won't make the film for you. You need to treat AI similar to how shots are taken in real life and then a lot goes into post-production.
How I built it
I built the film by mixing AI tools with traditional filmmaking craft. The core animation was created using Hailuo 2. For the generating the frames, I used Seedream 4.0 and Nano Banana. The idea was for it to seem and feel real.
Once the visuals were ready I moved into Premiere Pro where I did all the sound design manually. Some shots needed a little more movement so I created small animations in After Effects to give the film a gentle sense of motion.
For the voiceover I used ElevenLabs
Challenges I ran into
With AI films, the challenges are the same
- Does this look real enough?
- Is AI doing its weird pixelation?
- How to make a fan rotate like it does in real life?
Built With
- elevenlabs
- hailuo
- nanobanana
- seeddream4.0
