Inspiration

I believe that everyone, not just developers, should have a digital portfolio to showcase their achievements to the world. Therefore, after making a few projects and getting some experience, I decided it was time to make my own! This project is also good for people who want to be able to to easily add to their website portfolio later on (especially students), as it has some features that were built with that in mind.

What it does

This website is all about me - it has my achievements, projects, writing, and a lot more. I also plan to expand this website over time to showcase my new achievements, too.

How we built it

I built it using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I used Github and Netlify to store and release the website. I used FormSubmit to make the form functional, and TagEmbed to show all of my latest posts from Medium. I used FontAwesome and Iconify's icon libraries to get the icons.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenges I ran into were with the Coding Languages Known Section and the Writings Section. For the first one, I had a hard time styling the section to look professional, as I was using the wrong CSS settings. For the second one, I didn't have time to look into the Medium API to find a way to show my recent posts, so I had to figure out another solution.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of the site overall, since it was made by me about me. I also am happy with the fact that most of the website will be easy to edit for people to make their own portfolios, since most of the code is pretty straight forward (no fancy elements).

What we learned

I learned that CSS can be really confusing if you have even one property wrong :) Other than that, I also found out that Hackathons are really fun, and I want to continue to do more!

What's next for Pranav's Personal Portfolio

I want to continue to expand this project to make it more accessible for users by adding in ReadMe files to help them know what parts of the project to edit. I also want to improve the UI, make the website mobile friendly, add in a Light Mode Theme, and add in more sections!
