PrairieLearn-Project Inline-editor

Inspiration & What it does

PrairieLearn is an open source website for homework/exam assessment. Previously, course staff needs to write JSON and HTML file offline and upload them manually, which is inconvenient. We modified the source code to support online question modification and an online text-editor which supports MarkDown.

How we built it

Siwei implemented the text-editor, Pengyu worked on both front-end and back-end and Wei dealed with front-end.

I worked on both the front-end and back-end of this project using Node.js, express and javascript. I improved the way of making minor changes to questions, such as changing question titles, topics, tags. Previously, instructors have to create a Json file to do all these little changes which is tiresome. Right now they can directly making changes on the website.

I add the Question Editor to existing PrairieLearn system so that instructors can edit questions in web browsers. After clicking Save and reload, they can preview the change.
