Inspiration

Regression testing gets expensive when every pull request triggers a broad test suite. For UiPath AgentHack Track 3, I wanted a practical agent that turns PR risk into a smaller, explainable UiPath Test Cloud execution plan.

What it does

PR Risk Regression Selector Agent reads a PR diff, maps changed files to impacted product components, scores risk with coverage signals, and selects the focused regression tests that should run before release. The output is an auditable report with selected tests, skipped tests, risk reasons, and a UiPath Test Manager-ready test set.

How I built it

The MVP is a Python/PowerShell workflow with deterministic sample data, generated HTML reports, JSON evidence, and a UiPath Test Cloud proof path. In UiPath Test Manager, the demo project is PRS with Test Set PRS:4 using Static Assignment (3) and three mapped test cases: payments compute total, checkout UI submit happy path, and date utils format ISO.

Challenges

The main challenge was making the selection transparent enough for reviewers to trust. I focused on traceability: every selected test is tied to changed files, impacted components, and the reason it matters.

What's next

Next steps are a deeper UiPath Test Cloud API integration, richer historical failure weighting, and automatic creation or update of Test Manager test sets from live pull request events.
