Inspiration
My day to day work inspired me to use Chatgpt and Codex combined to create an app that could automatically build executive reports.
What it does
It captures predefined workstreams and milestones which describe the project steps depicted in a Gantt. It adds time entries and agents that start timers or update actual start and finish dates, a full risk lifecycle, decisions made, an attention page to maintain the projects updated and a one page overview of the project and a full steering committee report.
How we built it
I started building it with Chatgpt till I had a project structure , Gantt and basic reporing and then transferred what was built to Codex. The development was speed up a lot after Codex took over, A lot of the designs of new functionality I continued to do with Chatgpt.
Challenges we ran into
It was a challenge to construct an easy enough app to send to this hackaton.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am very proud of having come up with a private way of connecting the app on the laptop with mobile access to it to see and update the issues in the attention page, report times and update dates using a single code that follows the same philosphy of single truth.
What we learned
Codex helps but I steer the car and are in command, not AI.
What's next for PPS Project Operations System
Use it in my real life project.
