Inspiration

As Malaysian students in Korea, we often struggled to stay updated with important announcements, events, and opportunities because information was scattered across too many platforms; Instagram, KakaoTalk, Telegram, and more. This inspired us to create a single hub where students can access everything they need without missing out.

What it does

PPMK4U is an all-in-one community app that unifies announcements, events, group chats, payments, a marketplace, and a community board for Malaysian students in Korea. Instead of juggling multiple apps, students can find updates, join events, track payments, buy/sell items, and connect with peers-all in one place.

How we built it

We designed and developed PPMK4U using ChatAndBuild, integrating multiple community needs into a single platform. Our team of 5 collaborated on features such as the dashboard, announcements filter, event creation and ratings, payment tracking, marketplace listings with likes and chat, and a community board for anonymous posting.

Challenges we ran into

Consolidating diverse features (events, payments, marketplace, chats) into one intuitive platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully building a working prototype with multiple interconnected features, designing a platform that directly addresses real problems faced by Malaysian students in Korea and creating a user-friendly interface that makes information more accessible and communication more effective.

What we learned

How to quickly prototype a multi-feature application using ChatAndBuild. We also learnt about the importance of user-centered design in solving real community challenges and how to collaborate effectively under time constraints while dividing roles across different technical and design areas.

What's next for PPMK4U (Ctrl+g)

We aim to refine PPMK4U further by improving its UI/UX, adding more robust payment automation, and testing the app directly with the PPMK student community. In the future, we envision PPMK4U becoming the official digital hub for Malaysian students in Korea, fostering stronger connectivity, inclusivity, and engagement.
