Inspiration
People not following the safety measure of wearing masks and gloves causing COVID-19 pandemic to cause massive destruction to our well-bring.
What it does
The project uses VITECH Labs ML algorithm to identify images with people wearing masks and gloves with certain probability.
How I built it
I used Amazon SageMaker, VITECH Labs ML product, Python scripting to conduct image analysis and predict images wearing masks and gloves.
Challenges I ran into
1) How to use the VITECH Labs API, calling the end point 2) I had to make a request to AWS increase my quota of M4.2xlarge instances 3) Some images, because of its poor quality or alignment (side facing VS front -facing) did result in lower probability for a scenario.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Integrating VITCH API with Amazon SageMaker and be able to conduct image analysis.
What I learned
I learned how to use SageMaker, using VITECH API, creating end points, models, predicting and inference from images, Python programming, using Jupyter Notebook in AWS.
What's next for PPE-COVID-19
Using a stream or analyzing image real-time instead of one-on-one basis or processing sa batch of images.
