Inspiration
We wanted to design an experience that combined modern technology with the historical archives we have from the Pan-Am.
What it does
Our idea is twofold. The first half is an augmented reality experience, allowing you to see the area as it was over 100 years ago, using your cellphone. The other half is an interactive tour bus, fitted with screens, giving you a view of the area as if you were driving through it.
Challenges we ran into
Making a van that accomplished our initial goals was difficult, as we don't have unlimited funding. We needed to find the right kind of vehicle that fit enough people, while also allowing for the technical installations necessary. The sprinter van ended up being a good fit for the project, while staying without our projected budget.
What we learned
Actually fleshing out an idea is difficult. We had to go through many revisions before coming up with something both feasible and interesting.
