Inspiration
Mr. Simonovich's opening speech led us to connect the ideas of improving accessibility and providing relief to disaster-stricken communities, such as the relief drive SeƱora Miller held to help the people of Wans County, North Carolina. This led us to create a game in which an engineer improves accessibility to electrical lines and helps these communities.
What it does
You move around and place electrical poles that will provide power to the houses within a certain radius of the pole. Use E to place an electrical pole and C to select the nearest pole that will connect to the next pole you place.
How we built it
We used Unity and Unity version control to collaborate on the project.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into multiple versioning issues when we saved or updated the scripts and assets in our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Although there are not many features, we are proud because this is the first time we used Unity to develop a game in collaboration.
What we learned
We learned a lot about versioning in Unity and how the Unity packaging manager works because they broke down halfway through our development project.
What's next for Power Rescue
We may return to this project at a later date and add more features, such as creating a more realistic movement and building system.
