Inspiration The inspiration came from wanting to see the Powerpuff Girls in a completely new environment. We asked what it would look like if these iconic characters existed in a modern HBCU setting. Destorm Power is an HBCU alum, so a lot of the visual identity came from the culture and colors of his school. That grounded the project in something real while letting us reimagine the world in a fresh way.

This project takes the Powerpuff Girls and places them in a cinematic action-heavy reimagining set on an HBCU campus. It blends comedy, elevated action, and cultural energy with the heightened style of a superhero story. The film becomes a proof of concept for how AI can handle character continuity, stunts, and stylized movement in a live-action environment.

We built the project using a combination of tools. Kling, Luma, Artless, VO3, Leonardo, and Pixverse were our main engines. Each tool handled different tasks from character generation, to motion, to compositing, to refining the final look. At Nano Banana we layered these tools together as a unified virtual production workflow.

Challenges we ran into. The biggest challenges were the action sequences. Anything dynamic like the girls jumping out a window, flying, or shooting laser beams required extra precision. Keeping the characters consistent across every shot while pushing motion-heavy moments was the toughest part. These sequences demanded the most iteration and creative problem-solving.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of. We are really proud of the dialogue and the fight scenes. They hit the tone we wanted and proved that AI can handle cinematic movement when pushed with intention. We are also proud of the overall style and the fresh energy that came from placing the girls in an HBCU setting.

What we learned We learned how to hand off tasks to each other based on our strengths, which helped speed up the process significantly. This project taught us how to work smarter with the tools and how to build momentum as a team.

What’s next for Powerpuff Girls The Chemical X Experiment? We are excited to keep building our company Ghost AI. This project showed us what is possible and we plan to explore more AI-driven action stories while expanding this visual universe. The goal is to push quality even further and take on bigger, more ambitious sequences in the next chapter.
