Inspiration
It was inspired by my teammate's and my personal experiences with chronic procrastination, and we will personally use the app to help us lock in. The name $$Poultry$$ was just a random word I had come up with while making our group, and after giving it some thought, it seemed like a funny way to represent the app.
What it does
The app utilizes both scientific (Pomodoro technique, friction trick, eliminating decisions) and personal (lying trick - lying about the due date to give the user the pressure of finishing something) techniques to minimize procrastination.
How we built it
We used Python and JavaScript, along with the help of Antigravity and Copilot.
Challenges we ran into
At the start of the hackathon, our initial idea felt pointless after we did some further research on the topic. After about 2-3 hours of brainstorming and brainrotting, we decided on poultry (Which was initially named Daymark).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of the large number of different techniques and strategies we could implement into the app, and honestly how locked in I was while working on the code, which I am personally extremely proud of.
What we learned
We learnt how useful AI can really be in a code-building situation and also understood how back-end works in many different instances.
What's next for Poultry
We hope to publish the app and even create a Bluetooth feature that connects it to an Apple Watch, which would help with productivity even more.
