Inspiration
Wanting to cure boredom during quarantine. Interest in game development.
What it does
It's a game that allows you to control a potato and avoid fire.
How we built it
We built it through the Ubisoft API blank file that was provided. It was done by adding functions, entities and sprites.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into with the code was trying to get it to work properly. Due to not having any prior knowledge in C++ many challenges were faced and aspects that were hoped to be implemented into the game were unfortunately discarded. In addition, many nonsensical errors relating to MacOS were reported during the compile process causing a lack of time when it came to the coding.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of creating a semi-functional game, learning a lot about C++ and also following through with our idea to possibly help children and adults with their boredom along with taking them away from the problems of the real world.
What we learned
We learned that game development is harder than it looks and takes time.
