Inspiration

We wanted to help people handle their mental health, which has been difficult, especially now during COVID-19

What it does

Our program allows the user to choose from a variety of (potato) emotion icons, and different actions occur based on which icon is chosen (for example, a motivational quote could show up if a negative emotion icon is chosen).

How we built it

We used Java (in JGrasp) to create a frame and place images mapped to certain positions to create the icons. These icons corresponded to certain numbers, which generated a random quote from a given selection.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was uploading our project so that others could see it. We also had some difficulty coding the interactions between the mouse and our program and getting the next action to occur.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating Potato Mood Booster and getting to see the final product working, was a great accomplishment for us and we are proud of how everything turned out.

What we learned

We learned how to create an interactive program that involves MouseListener and MouseMotionListener, (with other classes like Ellipse, Sprite, and RectF) that allowed us to reach a final and engaging product.

What's next for Potato Mood Booster

*Further development of Potato Mood Booster would include a minigame that boosts mood instead of only having quotations. *
