Inspirations... I've always loved potatoes and I absolutely adore the Wild West culture. Seeing amazing games in a simplistic, yet meaningful matter always interested me. I strive to build the most iconic, yet simple applications and games as possible.
What is it... The game is built on C# through the emulator of Unity. Many scripts of codes were used to develop this.
How I Built This... Through determination and lots of sugar, I was able to power through and build a game from an empty canvas.
Challenges I Ran Into... Out of the whole 36 hours of constructing an amazing game, the hardest part was developing the health bar. Through many references and posts online, I was able to find out the best solution and ways to solve it. I used instances of classes on top of scripts. If only I paid attention in my AP Computer Science class, I would not have struggled as much.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of... I was able to develop an attention grabbing game. The game was very addicting and I am glad I developed the game to be as intrusive as it is.
What I learned... I learned the hardships of game designing very gruesomely. Game design can be one of the most hardest tasks and sometimes can make us feel unmotivated to continue in developing. I was able to learn the benefits of planning out a game design and keeping a positive mood in developing.
What's next for Potato Cowboys... I hope to make the physics components of the characters to be smoother and faster. I hope to make the game more action packed and perhaps more spread out. I plan on making different game modes and animations to make the game feel smooth. I plan on continuing to develop this project in the next few months.
