Inspiration

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly transfigured the way we work. While people are beginning to return to their offices many still remain working from home. A recently conducted study found that since the lockdown over 11 million people have suffered aches and pains due to working from home. This brought to my attention the issue of bad posture. I dived deeper into the issue and observed that even in my online classes most people were slouching in front of their screens.

What it does

PosturePro analyzes a person’s posture and informs them about it. If the user, has bad posture, the user is prompted to fix their posture and continue their work. PosturePro will help people develop a healthy and proper posture while sitting or standing. (More information about what PosturePro does is included in the video)

How I built it

I used Teachable Machine, which is a pose-recognition model, to track the user's posture. Then, I trained it to make sure it correctly distinguishes bad posture from good posture. I used Python to display the statistics collected from the model into graphs and tables. I used HTML, CSS, and JS to create a fully-functional responsive website, which explains how to use PosturePro and why posture is such a major issue in today's modern world.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am certainly proud of building a fully functional website which presents all the unique features PosturePro offers along with building the PosturePro model.

What I learned

I learned how to integrate Tensorflow and I also learned how to turn the data I collected from my model into statistics and graphs using Python.

What's next for PosturePro

In the future PosturePro will be turned into a chrome extension and it will analyze a person's posture in a more detailed manner so it can provide more accurate results to its user.
