Inspiration
We wanted to create a simple wearable system that helps people recognize and correct poor posture.
What it does
Posture Monitor detects slouching and rounded shoulders and provides real-time feedback on an LCD screen.
How we built it
We used an ESP32, four accelerometers, an LCD display and a push button for calibration and recalibration.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges with sensor calibration, LCD communication, wiring multiple accelerometers and accurately distinguishing different types of poor posture.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully integrated four sensors to monitor different areas of the upper body and provide real-time posture feedback.
What we learned
We learned about accelerometer data, I2C communication, ESP32 programming, sensor calibration and hardware-software integration.
What's next for Posture Monitor
We want to improve detection accuracy, make the device more wearable and comfortable and collect data to better personalize posture detection.
