Inspiration

As a solo founder and content creator, I constantly felt overwhelmed managing multiple social media accounts. Designing in Canva, writing platform-specific captions, jumping between apps, and trying to stay consistent - it all ate up more time than it should. I wanted a tool that could simplify the entire workflow, especially with the rise of AI and automation.

What it does

PostPlanify is a smart social media scheduling tool that helps creators and brands:

  • Upload media or use Canva designs directly
  • Select multiple social accounts (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, Threads)
  • Generate AI-powered and brand aligned captions
  • Preview posts per platform before publishing
  • Schedule or instantly publish with one click
  • View and manage all scheduled and published posts in a clean weekly calendar

It’s designed to save at least 8+ hours a week - and give creators peace of mind.

How I built it

I built PostPlanify using:

  • Frontend: Next.js + Tailwind + MUI
  • Backend: Node.js (Express), Prisma ORM, PostgreSQL
  • Auth: Google OAuth & Email/Password
  • Cloud & Infra: AWS (S3 for media storage)
  • Third-party integrations: Canva API, social media platform APIs (TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • AI: GPT-powered caption generation customized using brand tone and audience

Challenges I ran into

  • X's API limitations was tricky to get right.
  • Making the UX intuitive while supporting multi-platform logic for posts.
  • Generating platform-specific captions that feel natural and not robotic.
  • Balancing development and marketing as a solo founder.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • Built a fully functional SaaS with zero outside funding.
  • Created a seamless Canva-to-social workflow no other tool had.
  • Designed a UI that creators love using daily.
  • Got our first users organically from Reddit and X.

What I learned

  • Talking to users early saved me from building unnecessary features.
  • Even the best tool needs distribution - product alone isn’t enough.
  • Simplicity always wins over complexity when it comes to UX.

What's next for PostPlanify

  • Releasing analytics dashboard (engagement tracking per platform)
  • Supporting team collaboration and approvals
  • Continuing to grow our user base through organic channels and partnerships
