Inspiration

  1. The new government education policy that asked teenagers to work and as India is still facing unemployment the better way for them to interact and learn discipline is from the aged people.**

  2. In the course of the pandemic, we so the elderly suffering from anxiety, insomnia and depression due to living alone. Their kids have shifted to bigger cities in search of work, this creates a huge generation gap between the grandparent generation and the grandchildren generation.

This is us making a little effort to improve things.

What it does

This website connects teens with the elderly, where a teenager is represented as an intern. The old people post their daily tasks where they need help from intern and intern to have the option to take the task through the website.

When the task is taken from them aged will be notified and a particular ID will be given to the intern so that they can make contact with older through it. Once the task is done they need to notify and rewards will be provided by age.

The website has a friendly UI for the elderly, tasks will be done by kids above the age of 14.

Tasks can be as minimal as just spending an afternoon with them doing activities like playing etc After every task, it’s compulsory to give a reward to the intern, this inspires kids into helping more. Rewards may or may not be monetary.

How we built it

We started our project by creating functionality. Used HTML for creating a login page and connecting them through DAO and POJO classes and then created registration part. Then Intern login will be performed by request.get() and then created intern DAO classes. We used HTML, CSS, JS, JAVA and MySql.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into few challenges like Converting UUID into a string for inserting in it DataBase.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As UUID was a new topic for us so handling it perfectly is an accomplishment for us.

What we learned

We learned UUID managing git and HTML.

What's next for Posterity

Improving the website Prioritising/sorting tasks on the basis of radius A mobile app Ensuring the safety of intern and task giver with authentic resources
