Inspiration
Watching Harvard's Psychology 1504 class taught by Tal Ben-Shahar inspired me to start making changes to my life that can ultimately make me happier. I find great value in doing these small things and wanted to share it with people in a nice easy way. Not all actions that it recommends are directly from the class, but the majority are.
What it does
When prompted it gives the user a short task that can improve one's well-being and mood.
How I built it
A single AWS Lambda function running Node.js.
Challenges I ran into
Writing out Alexa's responses in a way that was concise and communicated enough information.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Finishing it in an afternoon.
What I learned
Making an app that does something valuable doesn't need to be complex or heavily architected. It can just be a single file and some configuration.
What's next for Positive Actions
Allow people to request things to do within a time limit. If you want to do something quick, it shouldn't recommend that you cook a homemade meal.
Built With
