POS invoice system

Inspiration

Modern retail and small businesses need quick, efficient, and user-friendly point-of-sale (POS) tools to handle billing seamlessly. Inspired by daily retail store challenges, this app was created to simplify order management, calculate pricing accurately, and generate receipts on the go.

What it does

The POS Invoice System allows users to:Product & Cart Management:Add items to cart, dynamically increase or decrease item quantities, and update price totals instantly. Taxes & Discounts: Automatically apply customizable discounts and tax rates to the final bill. Receipt Generation: Generate quick digital receipts/invoices for customer checkout.

How we built it

Flutter:Built cross-platform mobile UI using Flutter for a smooth and responsive user experience. WooCommerce API: Integrated WooCommerce backend REST APIs to fetch product data and manage inventory/orders seamlessly. State Management: Utilized Provider for clear and efficient state and cart management.

Challenges we ran into

Syncing real-time cart item quantities and pricing logic accurately with discounts and dynamic taxes. Ensuring smooth REST API integration with WooCommerce for real-time inventory updates.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully creating a clean, responsive, and intuitive POS billing dashboard. Enabling real-time tax and discount calculations without performance lag.

What we learned

State Management Mastery:Hands-on experience in managing complex app states (like dynamic cart management and price adjustments) using Flutter Provider. WooCommerce API Integration: Gained a deep understanding of connecting Flutter applications with e-commerce REST APIs for seamless data flow. E-Commerce Business Logic:Learned how to implement accurate retail tax rules, discount percentage calculations, and dynamic receipt updates in real time.

What's next for POS invoice system

Adding Bluetooth thermal printer support for direct receipt printing. Offline mode synchronization using local caching.
