As college students who enjoy playing poker with friends, we are always frustrated with carrying a bulky set, setting up the game, and keeping track of bets and holdings. This inspired us to create DigiPoker, which addresses these issues using a set of digital, interfaced poker chips that makes the game convenient and streamlines gameplay. DigiPoker assigns each player a betting chip and a holdings chip. With the press of a button, users can increase their bet, which displays on their individual bet chip and is reflected in both their holdings chip and the total pot that all players can view on a central screen. The game begins by prompting the player to enter their holdings value and bet increment. The first iteration of the project works by connecting two individual Arduinos that communicate with each other via I2C, displaying the data on the screen-based chips. The second version uses a Node MCU to send data to an Adafruit dashboard, where the player's holdings and bet value are displayed.
