Inspiration
I had seen a post of a similar dev creating his portfolio in the same still as mine and being quite proficient at Unity I decided to give it a shot.
What it does
It allows the player to interact with the environment and look at my portfolio through a computer screen.
How I built it
The project was built entirely in Unity, and it was exported into HTML and CSS using Unity's built-in WebGL exporter.
Challenges I ran into
One challenge that I ran into was making sure that the entire Unity camera screen takes up the browser which made me have to modify a couple of files in the HTML, CSS, and in Unity's export settings. Another challenge I faced was optimizing the build settings since when I first started building, things would break left and right so I spent a good chunk of time making sure I was able to convert it to a website.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The thing that I am most proud of is that I fully built a website using Unity in a little more than 24 hours when I had never touched it before. I must say my ideas came to life and I'm hoping everyone else will like it too.
What I learned
Before this event, I had never used Unity's WebGL before and now I can say that I fully understand how to build websites from Unity.
What's next for Portfolio Showcase
I will definitely add more pages in my portfolio showcases, and the ability to click on links, download my resume, and just make it more fun and interactable.
