Inspiration

Developers spend countless hours creating and updating their portfolios, often repeating the same information across resumes, GitHub, and LinkedIn. We wanted to simplify this process by building a platform that helps professionals create a beautiful, personalized portfolio in minutes while reducing manual effort.

What it does

Portfolia is a modern portfolio builder that enables developers and professionals to create stunning personal websites. Users can add their education, skills, projects, work experience, and achievements, then choose from professionally designed templates to generate a portfolio tailored to their personal brand.

How we built it

We built Portfolia using Next.js, Node.js, MongoDB, and Tailwind CSS to deliver a fast, responsive, and scalable web application. The platform includes secure user authentication, dynamic portfolio generation, and customizable templates to provide a seamless user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was designing a flexible portfolio system that could support different layouts while allowing users to customize their content easily. We also worked on creating reusable components and maintaining a clean, scalable architecture.

What we learned

This project strengthened our understanding of full-stack development, scalable application architecture, authentication, database design, and modern frontend development. We also gained valuable experience in designing applications that solve real-world productivity problems for developers.

What's next for Portfolia

Our vision is to transform Portfolia into an AI-powered Career Operating System. Instead of manually entering information, users will be able to connect their GitHub, LinkedIn, resume, and project data. Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and OpenAI models, the platform will automatically understand their experience, generate personalized portfolio content, recommend improvements, identify skill gaps, and continuously keep their portfolio up to date as their career evolves.
