Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from the popular question "where would you go if you can go any where" and dr. strange ability to travel by opening a portal.
What it does
The creator can open a portal by hand gesture to a creators heart desire (not literally but random places) to explore a new environment.
How we built it
The lens uses 3d hand tracking to track the creator index finger movement and detect if the movement of the index finger is in circle or not. If it is in circle a portal will appear with a random place to explore having ring portal gate.
Challenges we ran into
Tracking if a hand is moving in circle in both clockwise and counter clock wise.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I see a lot of AR lenses, and I always want to learn how they build it and to create my own world and publishing it is a whole another level. I like how it turned out.
What we learned
Creating advanced Snap AR Lens and to keep trying.
What's next for Xplore Portal
I think I will update it with more places to explore by leveraging snap AR remote assets
