Inspiration

This project began with a sci-fi comedy chapter book written and illustrated by David T. Lee in 2011 when he was just seven years old. That 6,500-word story, The Portal of the World, became the first book in his five-volume series The Adventures of Danny Hoopenbiller - a wildly imaginative tale about a young inventor who accidentally opens a portal to other worlds and encounters chaos, dinosaurs, and Martians.

Fourteen years later, David’s father directed and produced this cinematic AI music video to celebrate that same imagination, humor, and creative spirit - demonstrating how AI can amplify human storytelling like never before.

The project’s deeper goal is to inspire more families, children, and creators to read, write, and share their own stories.

How We Built It

  • We plan to expand The Portal of the WORRRLLD-D-D-D!! into a AI film series inspired by The Adventures of Danny Hoopenbiller - following the young inventor as he grows from a 10-year-old dreamer to a 30-year-old leader navigating adventures across time, space, and imagination.
