MockMate – AI Interview Coach

MockMate is an AI-powered mock interview platform designed to help students and job seekers prepare for real interviews. It generates interview questions, evaluates user responses, provides instant feedback, and highlights areas for improvement such as technical knowledge, communication, confidence, and answer quality.

Frontend:** React.js, Vite, HTML, CSS, JavaScript Backend:** Python, FastAPI Database:** PostgreSQL with SQLAlchemy Authentication:** JWT-based login and signup AI Integration:** AI/NLP model for question generation and answer evaluation Deployment:** Vercel for frontend and Render for backend Version Control:** Git and GitHub

Project Flow

1. User creates an account or logs in.
2. User selects an interview role, skill, or difficulty level.
3. MockMate generates relevant interview questions.
4. User submits answers through the interview interface.
5. The backend sends responses to the AI evaluation system.
6. AI analyses answer relevance, clarity, technical accuracy, and communication.
7. The user receives scores, feedback, and improvement suggestions.
8. Interview results are stored and displayed on the dashboard to track progress.
